This is Lyme Disease Awareness month, this video was from a couple of days ago, but wanted to stop by and let folks know about how many of us battling Lyme who are still dealing with some symptoms like myself have our great days, good, bad and flat out awful.
Monday was an awful day, and you’ll see in the video what a day in the life can be like. One day you’re feeling good, next day…flat on your back…or in my case…a spinning room due to vertigo. It was a flare, but I have not had this symptom this bad since the early stages of Lyme years ago.
.
I didn’t post for sympathy…but for awareness. For those deep in the battle of Lyme where they are bed ridden, suffering from a multitude of symptoms a day, not feeling heard…my deepest prayers to you, your families, loved ones and friends.
.
Stay tuned for more Lyme disease awareness posts. π
What’s Next for Me on My Path FREE Virtual Workshop: Based Around Serena Wills Poetry Book, “Crying Tears of Teal”Β
Tuesday, April 19, 2022, 7pm EST
Caregiving requires resilience. Join me for a workshop based around my poetry book, “Crying Tears of Teal” where you will get actionable advice for how to utilize self-care to stay resilient. Workshop is FREE and sponsored by Alexandria City Public Libraries (thank you for being a host and so gracious)! Click the link below to register ππΎππΎππΎ
“Thank you for sharing your story. I appreciate the self-care tips too. Having just lost my mom due to ovarian cancer and being her previous caregiver, on the outside I may seem okay, but internally I’m crumbling. Your story was inspirational and everything you taught will help me.” Employee from Ardmore organization
“Serena delivered a phenomenal presentation on wellness and self-care tips! the audience loved the flow and learned a lot from her about how to reduce stress. Thank you again!” Valencia Folks, Owner and Founder of Rhythm of Yoga Studio
Participants will be able to reflect on their own journey, look at where they are presently standing as caregivers or former ones, review feelings and emotions, take a self-care inventory to see if they are taking care of themselves. Let’s work together to make sure you’re taking care of yourself while caring for others.
Many blessings everyone. Today I wanted to focus on empathy. In this video by Dr. Brene Brown, it really talks about the difference between empathy and sympathy.
Empathy is when you can put yourself in that person’s shoes, feel what they are going through, being a good listening ear without judgement and simply letting your loved one know that you’re there and thankful they told you what is going on. Connection can truly help out a person in so many ways!
Discover within your circle or even just one person that you can talk to without judgement, can emphasize and actively listen without inserting their opinion.
Part of coaching is we actively listen to our clients from a place of non-judgement and compassion in order to assist them in moving forward. If you would like to learn more about health and wellness coaching, then please reach out by contacting me here.
Enjoy this video and remember…everyone doesn’t know how to emphasize, but all you need sometimes is just one person who can connect with you.
Blessings everyone! I wanted to share this video again that I recorded a little over a year ago in regard to “Parenting with an Illness.” As many of you know and for those who maybe new to me, what led me to becoming a health and wellness coach was my battle with Lyme disease and co-infections and also what I saw my mother go through with ovarian cancer.
This video could be for any parent/guardian that is going through an illness or having to deal with a medical condition. I know with the weather where I live being so all over the place, a couple of my symptoms flare at times like they are today, and I have to keep myself uplifted and positive. I rewatched my own video just to give myself motivation and I hope that it can help someone else as well.
If you like to talk more about my journey, what health and wellness coaching is about and my practice (Divine Wryte Wellness), then please message me here.
Take very good care, keep your head and spirits lifted and if you’re having a very difficult time, please reach out to loved ones or those who can assist. Sending love, light and peace to each of you.
Blessings everyone! As some may know…I’m now an Independent Wellness Advocate for doTERRA (thanks for the push people)!
Here’s a sneak peek into a couple of my faves from doTERRA. I had to kick off with Breathe! One of the symptoms that hit me like a ton of bricks in fall of 2012 due to Lyme and Co-infections was shortness of breath/respiratory issues. I still battle with this symptom.
.
When I was introduced to Breathe, it served as a nice partner with the other remedies and treatments I was undergoing. You’ll learn more about it in the video as well as Deep Blue! If you are in need of any kind of relief from pain, aches or even just after a good workout, you want to have Deep Blue in your life.
